Position Details

We're looking for a committed and enthusiastic Grounds Team Leader to join our Palm Lake Resort Caloundra team and help keep our resort grounds in pristine condition.

This is a Full Time role, working 38 hours per week on a Monday to Friday roster, in a hands-on capacity to maintain our gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing. Your work will be essential to ensuring the resort grounds are presented to a high standard for our residents and visitors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Hedge & tree trimming
• Mowing, edging & whipper snipping
• Control weeds and pests through the application of herbicides;
• Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of dying vegetation;
• Planting, mulching, and maintaining flowers and shrubs, including watering and maintenance of irrigation systems;
• Oversee the outdoor presentation of all facilities, including BBQ & pool maintenance
• Ensure all mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for someone who shares our values and belief that respect, passion, community, impact & safety underpins all the work we do.

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is essential;

• Relevant team management and gardening experience in a similar role;

• A "C" class drivers licence;

• Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower;

• Experience in machine maintenance;

• Possess the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying;

• Staff management experience to motivate coworkers, being enthusiastic with the ability to lead by example with limited supervision;

• ACDC chemical licence is advantageous.
