Position Details

Palm Lake Care Bargara is seeking a Service Manager Support to join our Service Manager in leading day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional hospitality, safety and compliance in a welcoming and well-managed environment for residents, families and staff. This is a full time permanent role, working 38 hours per week across Monday - Friday. 

 

Responsibilities

As the Service Manager Support, you will povide leadership and oversight of hotel services to ensure safe, high-quality hospitality and housekeeping services that enhance residents’ wellbeing and meet regulatory standards. You responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading and managing hotel services operations, including housekeeping and hospitality, to ensure high-quality, resident-focused service delivery.

  • Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, rostering, performance management and ongoing development of hotel services staff.

  • Ensuring compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, infection control requirements, and occupational health & safety legislation.

  • Assisting with audits, corrective action plans, quality assurance programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Coordinating administrative processes related to admissions, resident tours, stock control, and daily operations.

  • Fostering strong communication and teamwork with staff, residents, families, contractors, allied health professionals and management.

  • Assisting with monitoring and management of budgets, supplies and resources to support efficient service delivery.

  • Promoting a safe working environment through incident management, manual handling practices, PPE use, and staff training.

  • Coordinating and delivering mandatory and ongoing staff training in consultation with education and clinical leaders.

  • Actively supporting and promoting the Palm Lake Care's philosophy, values and workplace culture.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you will bring a blend of hospitality knowledge, leadership, and a passion for service excellence.

 

You’ll need:

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory or managerial experience of hospitality/hotel services operations, ideally within a regulated environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a senior administrative role.
  • Experience assisting with staff recruitment, onboarding, rostering, performance management and team development.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, staff, residents and their respresentatives.
  • Refined interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and strong working relationships across a range of stakeholders. 
  • Confidence to deliver staff training and development sessions
  • Current National Police Check & Drivers Licence.
  • Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail.
  • A positive attitude, initiative, and a solutions/continuous improvement orientated approach to operational challenges & change.

You’ll stand out if you have:

  • Previous experience in aged care or healthcare environment, with knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment 

  • Business management or OH&S qualifications
