Palm Lake Care Toowoomba is currently seeking to find qualified, experienced and compassionate employees to support PLC community Toowoomba in the following roles.  

 

  • Housekeeping Attendants – Mon-Fri rosters only  
  • Food Services Assistants Mon-Sun rosters 06.30-1.30 or 1.30pm to 08.00pm  
  • Personal Care Assistants (Cert III in aged care or equivalent essential) 24/7 rosters

Working in an aged care environment means being part of a broader mission to protect the health of some of our most vulnerable community members. As a Housekeeping Attendant your position plays a critical role in the cleanliness, and subsequent health, of our aged care community. 

  

A community of vulnerable elderly presents health challenges that requires a hygienic environment. From dust and infection control to occupational health and safety, you’ll need initiative, problem-solving skills, and a clear understanding of hygiene, infection control, and the impact of cleaning products on elder health. 

  

How you are supported  

These roles are supported by experienced and compassionate leaders to ensure that all our employees are able to make you essential to the things that make a house a home for our residents in their community.  

  

What We’re Looking For: 

To thrive any of these roles, you will need for each of the following:  

Housekeeping 

  • Experience in cleaning - Australian Aged Care Facility experience highly regarded and or hospitality industry such as hotels, or similar  
  • A current National Police Check 
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their effect on elderly health or willing to learn  
  • Excellent hygiene standards 

 

Food services attendants: 

  • Prior experience in a similar role within Aged Care essential 
  • Understanding of following essential dietary requirements for residents 
  • Ability to work as a part of a team in a proactive support role to cook 
  • Excellent hygiene standards 
  • A Knowledge of Food Safety Standards 

 

Personal Care Assistants  

  • Cert III in aged care or equivalent essential 
  • A caring and respectful approach towards residents 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills 
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude 
  • Empathy with elderly residents and their families 
  • Knowledge of Autumn Care would be highly regarded although not essential 
  • Experience working in an Australian Aged Care Facility highly regarded 

 

Essential requirements for all roles  

  • Australian national police check within the last 3 months  
  • Working rights for Australia  
  • Eagerness to learn and grow 
  • Good time management and initiative 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and respectful manner in a team environment  
  • Flexibility to work various rosters across 7 days/ 24 hours (PCA only
